6 ways to tell if the weed you’re smoking is high quality

Ever wonder if your weed is really top-notch? It might look and smell great, but there’s a bit more to it! Let’s chat about what to look for to know if you’ve got some high-quality bud.

The smell

Believe it or not, truly good weed shouldn’t just smell like a regular plant! If you’re checking out lower quality flowers, like AA and AAA, they’ll often have a more earthy or herby scent (though it can vary by strain). But for the really good stuff, like AAAA and higher, your nose will be delighted by much more interesting and complex smells. Think sour, sharp, or fruity notes – those are usually signs of some seriously good bud!

The stickiness

You know how the band Sticky Fingers got their name? Well, good weed lives up to it! The really great stuff will leave your grinder a bit gunked up and tough to turn. That’s because the flower is producing lots of resin, and that amazing resin is where all those feel-good THC compounds are hiding. So, remember: the stickier, the better!

The look

Just by looking, you can often tell if you’ve got “schwag” or something truly awesome! There are two main things to watch for. This often means you’re looking at a pretty interesting or popular strain. Don’t get us wrong, some airy and fluffy weed can be amazing, but if you find nugs that feel rock hard, you might just be holding something out of this world!

Taste

For many, weed is a bit like food or even wine! Think about it: when you’re at a restaurant, a dish can look incredible and smell amazing, but what truly matters is how it tastes, right? That’s what decides if you’ll order it again. It’s the same with weed! If your toke tastes great, you’re likely enjoying some high-quality medical marijuana.
